Fall Sports

Clayton's football season has come to an end. Their team won 5 games and lost their last one. Clayton did a very good job and can't wait for basketball, track and baseball to start.
Clayton is in the first row standing and the second from the left. His cousin Ryan is on his left side.

Harly also played her last soccer game on Saturday. I was unable to be there but I was on the phone with Dayson who was watching and commentated her first goal she made. Way to go Harly! Their team was undefeated. Harly got a trophy at their team party after the game.

Carson's team still has 4 games to go. It's always nice when the season ends.

Clayton's Birthday!

This is Clayton when he turned 4 years old. Dallin and Wyatt watching him open his presents.
I love this picture of Clayton with his chubby cheeks and spiky hair. He wanted to be "cool"!

On the morning of Clayton's birthday he opened his presents. Aarron had wrapped a special gift for him and raced in to help him unwrap it.

Clayton was such a good sport and laughing really hard because it was an old baby rattle Aarron found in the game room.

Clayton with his new basketball..

..and his new 22 rifle. He was so excited about getting it. Dad and Grandpa took him out shooting later that day.

A little "shout out" for Carson. We left the house that morning at 7:00 am and went to Carson's first football game in Holbrook. Carson is in the first row, last player on the right side. Their team lost but he did really good. Way to go Carson!

After Carson's game we went strait to St. John's where we met Dad, Grandma & Grandpa Merrill, Aunt Andrea and her kids and Uncle Loren & Aunt Anna at the Apache County Fair.
Dayson had been working there all week at the Sheriff's office booth. Anna had her spice booth and everyone else was there to play.

Aarron riding the boats, he was a little bored.

Zach, Carson, Ryan and Clayton watching Aarron ride the boats. The fair worker started splashing them with the water, they loved it.

and MacKenzie with hers

The last game of the day was the race. At the end, the little boy with orange shirt won the race.
Better luck next time kids!

Clayton had a fun birthday, after the fair we went home and he played basketball with his cousins.

Happy Birthday Clayton, we love you!

Clayton Ordained to the Aaronic Priesthoood

This week was special for Clayton and our family.
Clayton turned 12 on September 12th and is now in Young Men's.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8th he had his interview with Bishop Martin to receive the Aaronic Priesthood. The picture above is him waiting for his interview.

On Sunday, September 13th he was Ordained to the office of a Deacon.
Keenan on the left was also ordained and Clayton's cousin Ryan on the right was ordained the week before. These three young men are growing up to be very handsome.

Here is a picture of Clayton's Deacon quorum. This was Ryan's last Sunday in our ward because their family moved. Dayson is the Deacon's Quorum Adviser.

Boys being boys!

Clayton with his Dad, Grandpa Wellman and Grandpa Merrill. Uncle Jeremy was also a part of the ordination but left before we could take the picture.

Round Valley vs. St. John's

John, Rulon, Rita

Steve Brown congratulating Rulon

Friday night football at the dome is the funnest time for our family. Mostly because Rulon (my nephew) plays varsity football and in my mind is the best player on the team. The football game against St. John's was exciting from the beginning. With 49 seconds left on the clock in the fourth quarter the score was 26 to 21, St. Johns is winning. Our quarterback, Chantz Davis ( Rulon's bestfriend) throws a 30 yard pass or so to Rulon who is being guarded by two of St. John's players. He manages to jump, catch and hold on to the ball for the winning touchdown. Way to go Rulon! He is the town hero. The crowd went wild and everyone rushed down to the field to congratulate the team.

Rulon being interviewed by the newspaper or radio after the game.

Daycee playing on the field after the game.

Harly doing the same.

Adam loving the fake turf, didn't want to leave. This is the only grass he's ever liked to play in.

Cub Scouts

Carson earned his Webelo award at the last pack meeting.
He is real close to earning his Arrow of Light and than off to boy scouts with his brother.
I won't have another cub scout for 4 1/2 years.

When it was time to put on the mom's pin, I asked Carson if he wanted to put it up high or down low. He chose to play it safe, what a true boy scout.
