Scout Camp & Girls Camp

This year both Clayton and Carson went to camp Geronimo. Dayson took time off of work to be with the boys. I am so glad he did because he was there to make sure they earned all of their merit badges. Clayton earned 6 and Carson earned 7. He was so excited to get more than his big brother and Clayton was pretty excited for him too! The boys had a chance to rock climb and repel, swim and whatever else they do at camp.

Because of the Wallow Fire our camp was re-scheduled and they were there with Dayson's brother Adam and his son Dallin. How fun for them to see each other at camp!

The week after Dayson got back from Scout camp, I went to Girls Camp.

I had been looking forward to this opportunity for several months. I love girls camp and I love the girls!

One of the days we went to Luna Lake. The girls were able to ride paddle boats and canoes. They weren't allowed to swim because the water was bad from the fire, but they had a good time.

I stepped away from my camera for a little bit and this is what I found. I guess my kids aren't the only ones who take advantage of my camera. This is Kaeli my best friends daughter.

I had a really good time with the girls and got to know each one of them. I hope I get to go again next year!

Summertime!

Last weekend the little kids and I drove to Mesa for Sage's baptism and on our way home we stopped at wal-mart and picked up a trampoline. We got home Saturday around 5:30 and dad was too tired to set it up so we had to wait until Monday morning. We got up at 6:30 am and woke up the kids. Dayson and I both had to work so getting the trampoline set up early was the only way to go. The kids are so excited to finally have a trampoline again. It's been a while since we had one, so this has been a nice treat!

We decided to make a summer dessert because strawberries and blueberries were on sale at Basha's. Carson has always been infatuated with the American Flag so he was in charge of decorating the cake. Everyone stood around to watch and wanted to help.

I love summer weather and don't want it to end!

Because our whole family was in Round Valley for the 4th of July we planned a family picture. My friend Ginger was awesome to take time out of her busy schedule and take our pictures. I love her dearly. Thanks Ginger they turned out beautifully!

In this picture is my Grandpa and his wife Dorris who many of us know as our Grandma. After my Grandma Norma passed away Grandpa re-married. Not all of the grandkids from my Uncle Bruce and Aunt Karen are present.

Me and Grandpa. He doesn't remember who any of us are. I tried to help him remember but it was too dificult for him. I asked his him if I looked like Grandma Norma and he said yes. I don't know if he really remembered or just wanted me to stop asking him questions. Out of all 17 grandkids, I am the only one with red hair like my grandma Norma. She died when I was only 6 or 7 years old.

I am so glad we were able to get togeteher with the Wellman Family this year. We haven't had a reunion since my grandpa's 80th birthday party and he will be 89 this year.

4th of July Celebration

Going to the 4th of July parade is a must in our town. It's the biggest event of the year next to the football game against St. John's. All of the kids getting together with their cousins and friends.




And the parade begins....





It is such a great feeling to be able to stand with your hand on your heart while the American Flag goes by. One of the things I want my kids to learn, is how to respect and love our counrties symbol of Freedom.

I have always had a special place in my heart for the Veterans Float. Maybe it's because my dad and grandfathers are veterans of war and I am so proud of them.

Daycee begged me to be on our ward primary float. I didnt' want her to miss out on being with family and having to sit in the sun for an hour, but she insisted so I gave in. She was so proud and had the best "Miss America" wave!

After the parade was over we went to Andrea and David's cabin in Greer. We had lunch and went for a drive and a walk.

The kids found this snake and Zack picked it up to tease the little girls.
