Dayson's Home

I was so excited to see Dayson last night. He walked into the door with his uniform on and let me tell you he is "HOT". He is so sexy and I am lovin it....

This past week has been a lot better. After complaining about my life I decided to do something about it. I cleaned my room and organized it. I rearranged the girls bedroom and cleaned it. Than on to the boys room, I cleaned it also, just in time for Adam and Aarron to go and mess it up. I started cleaning my office and throwing away trash. I've cleaned out old clothes and need to take those to the goodwill. And finally about that carpet, I called the carpet cleaner and he's coming in a few weeks to clean the family rooom. With all of this done I feel like I can live in the house a little longer.

....okay back to my husband, after he got home we went to pick the boys up from a birthday party and told them to act like they weren't in the car because we are on a date. I pulled into the Dairy Queen drive thru and of course they yelled "I want some ice cream". Dayson acted like he didn't hear them saying "Did you hear something back there". It was fun to pretend. So while waiting in line we were trying to decide what kind of blizzard to get and because I was lost in my husbands gorgeous green eyes I couldn't help but to kiss him. The boys were disgusted and that made me do it even more. I finally ordered a butterfinger and oreo blizzard and to the boys surprise we handed back the oreo blizzard. It was a fun treat for them. When we got home all of the kids were asleep except Harly, so I shared my blizzard with her. What I loved the most about this date was that even though the boys knew I was only ordering two blizzards (one for me and one for Dayson) they never complained or cried about getting one. They respected that we were on a date and didn't bother us. That makes giving them a treat all the better, when they least expect it. I love my kids and appreciate all they do for me. Especially when Dayson is gone.

7 Weeks Down & 11 To GO!!

I have spring fever. I need to clean out closets and organize rooms. My house is so messy and cluttery, I'm going nuts! It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I hate this house. The carpet is ugly, I have no dishwasher, the toilets leak, there is no garage to park in when it's really cold or windy and did I mention the carpet is super ugly. I have been looking for a new house but our lease isn't up until May. I know I should have patience but I'm going crazy in this house. If only I had new carpet maybe I wouldn't be such a grumpy mom all of the time. My kids probably hate me by now and I know my feelings are pretty mutual. It's not that I hate my kids but sometimes I wish I could just leave. I'm not talking about forever. I just want to go somewhere without seven kids. I know what your thinking, "why did you have so many kids?" I ask that question every day. I can't change it, so I'm just complaining. I know things will be different when Dayson is done with the academy. But for now I'll just be grumpy. I was going to take pictures of how messy my house was last week but I didn't want anyone to call CPS on me. Okay now that all of my frustrations are out, I better clean my house, AGAIN.

yours truly,

Kim the complainer

"My Other Valentine"

My bestfriend and cousin, Amy, gave me a very sweet valentine card. She personalized it just for me. (a girl with red hair) Amy is an amazing mom and wife. I have learned a lot from her. She knows exactly what to do in every situation. She's a wonderful cook, teacher, friend, sister, mom and wife. Her family is very lucky to have her. I wish I could be more like Amy. She never forgets Christ. He is always there in her life and it shows thru the charity she shows to others, especially me. Thanks for the Valentine Card Amy, it was perfect timing, I love you like a sister.

Dayson and I had a really fun valentines day. We started the morning out by going to Carson's basketball game. He did so good. He scored 2 points and their team won, 16-9. We spent all day as a family until that evening, we went out to dinner with some couples in our ward. Because we live in a small town and nothing else to do we went to Basha's bought some milk than rejoined our kids and watched Princess Diaries 2. (Chosen by the girls, but the boys love watching it too.) It was a very relaxing day for all of us. We love having our dad home on the weekends especially since he doesn't have to be back until Monday evening.

Handy "WO"man!

Okay this might be a corny post but I'm really proud of myself. Two days ago my dryer stopped working. After two days of taking my laundry to my sisters house to dry, it was time to buy a new dryer. I checked online for the lowest prices (329.00) and the local appliance store (489.00). I also looked into buying a used dryer (150.00) that was a little more reasonable. But, that dryer wasn't ready to be sold at retail yet. The tech asked me what was wrong and I told him the dryer turns on but does not spin. He said that it was probably the belt and they could easily repair it for 65.00 plus parts. That was better than 150.00. Then I got to thinking, what if they come to fix it and they can't and I would be out 65.oo plus, still have to buy a new/used dryer. So before they came I decided to google " how to replace a dryer belt". There were a ton of articles on how to do it step by step. There was even a youtube video on how to do it. This didn't look to hard, so I called them back and said I was going to fix it myself. The tech kind of laughed and said don't forget to unplug it first. "I Already did it" I said. He seemed a little impressed and I felt proud. The next delay in fixing my dryer was getting the correct belt. Of course they didn't have the right part in stock and wouldn't until Tuesday. I was not about to spend all weekend drying clothes at Rita's house so I called around everywhere I knew. My bestfriend Amy even checked some local places for me in Snowflake. She is so awesome. Okay I know this is so boring, but my dad being the greatest parts picker upper in the world located one for me in Tempe. Dayson stopped to get it on his way home. I was hoping to have it done before he got home but that wasn't going to happen. So I waited another 4 hours and finally I had the belt. I told Dayson I wanted to do it myself and being the wonderful husband he is, he let me. Until it came time to unscrew the last two screws. They weren't going to budge and my huge muscles couldn't do it. So, hunky husband to the rescue. (He has been working out for the last 6 weeks and is really hot.) Anyway, he unscrewed and I put the belt on, with his muscle help of course and "Ta Da" it was fixed. I showed him how to put the dryer back together and I was good to go. I finally was able to dry my clothes at 9:30 pm. Oh and by the way, MacKenzie woke up sick and it was coming out both ends all morning. So my laundry was piling up with stinky clothes and blankets. I think that is why I was so determined to get it fixed. I also didn't want to spend my valentine money on a new dryer. I felt like a "supermom".

This is what the dryer looked like when I took it apart. I cleaned out gobbs and gobbs of lint.

Weekend With Our Family...

Friday afternoon the kids and I drove to Phoenix to spend the weekend with our dad and family. Saturday morning I went to get a pedicure with Andrea. It was so nice to finally have a pedicure since the last one I had was back in July. We than went to Nash's birthday party where we spent time with our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Nash was very cute and all smiles for the camera. Mom and dad attempted to ride the mule and after his second attempt my dad finally made it on the mule. Getting off was a little tricky but he survived. Becky and her girls surprised Jamie and flew in town Saturday morning. It was fun to have all of our sisters together again. We ended the day with a movie with all of my sisters, most of the older nieces, my mom and dad and grandma Slade. We had to drive back home on Sunday. We left early to be home before dark because of the snow storm. We arrived safely without any problems. We look forward to next weekend when dad is home for Valentines Day and Presidents Day. Three day weekend, Yeah!
